Ted Angelo has more than 22 years of experience in a government-relations capacity, primarily in the legislative and state branches of government.  He began his career as a research aide, and later as a consultant with the California State Senate Appropriations Committee where he provided fiscal-policy analysis of general government, state resource, and insurance-related legislation.

 

Mr. Angelo went on to work as a legislative and communications coordinator for two statewide trade associations, the Cellular Carriers Association and the California Housing Council, and later as a policy analyst with the Department of Motor Vehicles where he helped manage many high level projects, including the Vehicle License Fee reduction project.  Prior to joining ACLHIC, Mr. Angelo served as a Legislative Analyst in the Legislative Office of the California Department of Insurance. He concentrated on Property/Casualty, Agent/Broker, Financial Surveillance, and Life and Annuity issues.

 

Mr. Angelo joined ACLHIC in January of 2004 as Legislative and Regulatory Counsel covering a wide variety of crucial issues. His primary focus is on Life and Annuity issues, but he also handles many complex matters that impact the insurance industry as a whole.  Mr. Angelo is a Sacramento native, and is married with three children.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Information and Communications Studies from California State University, Chico, with an emphasis in Public Relations.
